In the Gulf of Maine I am pleased that all of the timing issues have been resolved and am hoping we can start to see how the models compare, both in terms of time series at the stations Chen’s group has identified and in terms of spatial inundation extents.   I also hope we are at or near being able to compare WWIII and SWAVE wave model results on the larger Gulf of Maine region.

Please note that our next concall will be this coming Tuesday, May 31 at 2:00 PM.  Since we are hopefully well into the “results” phase, I’d like to start using SURA’s webex capability to show results.  Below are instructions for getting into the webex.  Note, for audio, you will use the usual call in number, which is also provided below.

Please send me your progress reports by NOON on Tuesday (earlier if possible but I realize that Monday is a holiday – although not for graduate students…..).

Re: Creating Interoperable Documentation

I've recently begun working with Ted Habermann for the IOOS Catalog project .  He has a jar file which can be downloaded to read netCDF headers and produce ISO-19115 and ISO-19119 xml files.  He's doing this for NDBC HFRadar THREDDS servers and the various regional RA's TDS.  He is putting the results in a Web Accessible Folder (findable by Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.  Here's an example of the WAF I am using for the Catalog.
http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/metadata/published/19115/IOOS/

Click on the 1list.html file to see a display of various XSLT transforms, as well as a link to the XML.  Most interesting is the Rubric which via XSLT scores the metadata in the netCDF header.

We should definitely leverage these tools in our work.  I am working on an XML parser to extract information about these services including TDS links and WCS links for use in the IOOS Catalog.
